I’m no-one special. But I’ve been smart enough to not take anyone’s word for it when it comes to business.

I’ve done a few things right, made a few mistakes, and have learned a lot from trial and error.

I’ve seen it all.

It’s been nearly a three-decade long journey that’s led me to help transform the lives and businesses of thousands of happy clients in person, as well as attract a rapid following online of many more.

I’ve immersed myself in business journals and scholarly articles about success in business, leadership, and coaching. I’ve studied, trained, and become a Professional Certified Coach with the ICF. I’ve been on the Board of the Association For Coach Training Organizations, where I had the privilege of working alongside some of the best coach trainers in the world as we trained world-class coaches and defined the standards for the industry. I’ve partnered with many of the big names in the coaching industry and have worked with many of the unnamed business greats, Speakers, Authors, and CEOs of global organizations (who you will know).

I’ve been privileged, and what I’ve learned is this…

…Every one of us follow deeply ingrained patterns of behavior handed down to us from previous generations for untold millennia.

Don’t kid yourself. These impulses still control us, even though we can go online and find any information we need, anytime we want. (You don’t even have to leave the house!)

These survival mechanisms don’t serve us anymore.

And yet we’re still a slave to them, day by day… sometimes hour by hour

WHY?

Forget about why. We know why.

It’s called evolution, survival of the fittest.

And trust me, your chances of turning around that battleship are as likely as convincing an African lion to eat tofu.

Rather than curse our ancestral tendencies, why not leverage it to your advantage instead?

You can, you know.

Before I show you how, let’s talk about how you’ve been lied to…

  • If you’re not growing your business, it’s dying. (the mantra of never ending growth is killing us, literally - you need to decide what is ‘enough’ for you, so you can build the business that supports the life you want. Not everyone wants to become an empire-building billionaire).
  • If you’re not good at sales you will never be successful at business. (It’s not about sales, it’s about value, relationship and service)
  • If you build it, they will come. (No they won’t, not in today’s hyper-competitive marketplace)
  • The best coaches will be the most successful. (The best marketers are the most successful, and usually the worst coaches)
  • You have to launch. (Nope)
  • You MUST buy this from me by midnight tonight, to be successful… (please God no…)

So every time you make a promise to yourself like “I’m going to focus on building my business”, it’s only a matter of time before you are run-over by the truck named Your Comfort Zone of Safety and Security.

When you listen to the internet marketers, you will feel overwhelmed by everything you SHOULD be doing.

(Again, evolution. And again, you’re not changing that).

I’m willing to bet that everyone reading this right now - including you - has at one point bought something they thought was the solution,  learned and implemented, only to be disappointed because they couldn’t make it work, especially in the long run.

Doesn’t matter if you were just trying to earn $5K per month… or $50K… it always works the same.

Once you do this three or four times, then you’re forced to say, “Screw it. It must be me because I can’t make anything work, and that’s just stupid. Nothing makes any difference and I keep working harder and harder with no results”.

And if you’re talking about hyped up online offers, well I am not surprised.

My heart goes out to anyone who has said that. If this was you, please know it wasn’t your fault. You’ve been sold a lie…

Oh, and I can hear some of you already…

“But Jayne, wait! That’s BS. If I just do what the successful
coaches do then I’ll get the same results, right?”

And to that I say, “Au contraire, mon ami”

What to do next in your business depends on who you are, what you want to achieve, and what stage of business development you are currently in.

Business is a complete system. If you only have one piece of the jigsaw, you can’t make a beautiful picture. You have to understand the whole.

There will be times when you need to implement a short-term cash project and other times when you have the luxury of working on longer-term soul projects.

But the truth is you get to define the lifestyle you want and create a unique business that will support what you want from life. You don’t want to build a monster of a business, you want the simplest version of business that can deliver on your particular business goals.

Nothing more. Nothing less.

Does this sound too good to be true?

I don’t blame you, you probably think business today, especially in the online world is anything but simple.
